Bloom Into You Tohmi Higashi High School student general meeting report part 3

Student council sponsored music appreciation party (the name of the live performance)
Azuna Riko enters, carrying a guitar under an arm!
Azuna 「Hello everyone of Tohmi Higashi High School.
Well, I am from a high school in Saitama, table tennis club member Azuna Riko.」
Such was her self-introduction.
Nogami 「That’s a huge racket!!」
Ichikawa? 「You play table tennis but came to a music appreciation party!?」
Though they quip, it’s time for the live performance.
Kotobuki 「We will listen from the stage wings!」
She sang 『Kimi ni Furete』 and 『rise』.
Her singing voice was very, very wonderful.
After finishing the 2 songs,
Azuna 「Now, this isn’t over yet.
Let’s hear the two sing!
Takada-san! Kotobuki-san!!」
The two who appeared in response to the call had changed their clothing.
Takada was in 『red (Yuu color)』 and Kotobuki was in 『pale blue (Touko color)』 matching one-piece dresses.
Azuna 「I actually want to listen from there (while pointing to the audience)!」
With those words she returned to the stage wings.
Kotobuki 「Now, please listen.」
Kotobuki, Takada 「hectopascal!」
Intro~
It starts with the two standing back to back, with Takada in front and Kotobuki behind.
According to the choreographer, 「they are facing opposite ways as they have yet to meet」.
Shiritakute shiritakunai kono mama de ii
Takada who stands in front is in the spotlight, sings alone.
During the chorus (kono mama~ de ii~~♪)
she slowly goes around behind Kotobuki, so that they change places.
Marubatsu ga tsuku no nara zutto zutto ashita ni naranai de
The two join together at singing the 「de」, and simultaneously raise their right arm.
From there they lower it counterclockwise as if drawing a semicircle.
As the end of holding the 「deーーーー」, they raise their left hand (which held the microphone) in the same way.
They lower it clockwise, drawing a semicircle like earlier.
Interlude 1
With their right forearm vertical and left forearm horizontal, they alternate between vertical and horizontal following the rhythm.
While moving their arms as such,
they step in place for beats 1~3, and take a step away from each other on the 4th beat
until there’s a fair distance between them.
At the end of the interlude, just before entering the A melo, they turn their backs on each other (turn 90 degrees) and raise their arm in a knocking gesture.
In the C melo, words like 『close yet far』 and 『the other side of the glass』 are used.
Also, Kimi ni Furete (OP) has the line 『I wonder what is hidden inside the locked glass box』.
At such a far distance, they want to share their feelings for each other but cannot, they want to go in but cannot, such irritation was the feeling of their movement.
Tooi sekai no koto dato~ (A melo)
The two sing where they stand.
Kimi ni dattara~ (B melo)
When entering the B melo, they start to circle each other while keeping their distance.
They gaze straight ahead, never making eye contact.
After walking a full circle, they stand a bit farther away from where they were during the A melo.
The distance hasn’t shortened…….
Ashita wa nan ni naru?
Choreography with steps and arm movements.
While standing in place, they put a leg out and return before repeating the same with their other leg.
Yagate kimi ni naru~
With both hands holding the microphone, they bring it slightly forward from their chest and return.
During the hook they repeat…… those movements…… sorry, I only have a vague recollection…….
As the choreographer mentioned, it’s bright, joyful, cute, and catchy.
My heart tightened from the cuteness overload!!!
Interlude 2
The same movements as in interlude 1.
But this time they move a little closer.
However, they still turn their backs and knock, so although they’re closer it’s only a small amount.
Nantonaku mainichi ga~ (A melo)
Similar to the first part, they stand in place until the B melo where they start to circle.
Sonna koto yori ashita wa~
Like the first part, there’s a set distance (the sense that they’re conscious of 『without breaking the current distance』 here) as they walk facing straight ahead.
The only difference (that I remember) is
in the latter part of 『sonna koto yori ashita wa futari de dokoka e ikou』, 『futari de dokoka e』 has Kotobuki (Touko) turn her face to look across the circle at Takada (Yuu)!!!
Her small delight with the turning is the moment Touko ⇨ Yuu her feelings!!
But…… the distance doesn’t shrink……
Sukoshizutsu kowareteiku futari no kyori wa sonouchi~
The feelings of the two connect, and although Touko who doesn’t want to break their current distance has a vector of her feelings (in the act of turning), she doesn’t get closer.
However, Yuu changes little by little, and 『little by little the distance breaks』 into zero.
Matching the lyrics, the circle’s radius becomes smaller, so that they will 『pass by each other』 at a close distance.
It will become zero, but it has yet to coincide……
Ashita wa dare ni naru~
The rust.
They stand closer compared to the first part. Movements are the same.
Cute movements that expressed brightness and joy, but my heart tightened more from the pain…….
Interlude 3
Kotobuki faces straight ahead, and Takada moves in a somewhat flustered manner.
Takada steps back to the rear.
The scene of 『What does that happy mean?』 suddenly crosses my mind.
Wanting to tell but cannot, her feelings that mustn’t be noticed.
Then, the two place both hands over their heart.
They bend their knees and tap their heart to the beat.
In YagaKimi, the beating of the heart has a serious amount of significance.
Or something like that.
I felt like Touko (Kotobuki) had a slightly bashful expression, while Yuu (Takada) had a slightly pained expression.
Then, at the end of the interlude, the two change places and face each other.
Chikakute tookute mousukoshide todoku noni
Reenactment of the 『river beach』 scene that the choreographer wanted to include by all means.
I’m not sure if it’s volume 2 or volume 6, but from what I saw of the second B melo’s choreography, maybe it’s volume 6…….
The feelings of the two who face each other seem to be connected, but the pain of being unable to touch is conveyed.
At 『chikakute』 Touko (Kotobuki) reaches her hand out, and at 『tookute』 she pulls her arm back.
At 『mousukoshide todoku noni』 she holds that arm and looks down, as if she were keeping back something.
Toumei na garasu no mukou~
Yuu’s part.
Yuu (Takada) approaches Touko (Kotobuki)…… but turns around and goes away.
Ashita wa nan ni naru~
The last hook.
Not touching while being able to touch, the distance between the two is 『close yet far』.
The bright and cute choreography makes the pain stand out more.
Outro
The same movements as the earlier interludes, but here the two gradually get closer.
Is this when they will finally meet?
Standing right next to each other, they turn they backs and knock.
They turn around, and knock towards the other!!!
They faced each other!!!!!!!
Their feelings for each other have connected!?
Touko (Kotobuki) who seems to turn and run away has her arm caught firmly by Yuu (Takada), as the 『music』 ends.
After the notes fade out……
Her arm is released, and they hold hands (unmistakably fingers intertwining).
Kotobuki’s blog also has the choreographer’s comments.
It took a very, very long time to think of how to go about the ending.
In the evening performance……
After they finished and held hands, Takada is drawn into an embrace by Kotobuki!!!!
Closing remarks
The hour and a half long event comes to an end.
「I would like us to meet again 『through YagaKimi』.」
「I want to do a sequel!!!」
The BGM is 『Suki, Igai no Kotoba de』.
『Student council president』 Kotobuki makes the closing formalities.

Sayaka 「Still, it’s going to be even more difficult starting tomorrow.
Hakozaki-sensei’s acquaintance from the theater troupe will be coaching us.」
Yuu 「Wehhh.」
Touko 「Let’s make enough dinner for tomorrow too.」
Maki 「If I’m not mistaken, we’re making it ourselves?」
Touko 「Yeah, I was thinking it’d be more fun that way.
We’re allowed to borrow a cooking room.」
Yuu 「Have you decided on the meal?」
Touko 「Hm-hm-hmm.
Training camp means……」
Yuu 「Means?」
Touko 「It’ll be curry!」
Yuu, Doujima 「Yaaay!!」
Sayaka 「Does curry make you that happy??」
Maki 「It’s like a classic for training camps.」
Doujima 「Come on, it’s curry! Get hyped!」
Yuu 「Koyomi’s gone home already, but I wish she’d stayed to have some.」
Doujima 「Oh yeah, what about Riko-sensei?」
Sayaka 「Hakozaki-sensei has more work to do.
She’ll join us afterwards to eat.」
Doujima 「Tsk, that’s no fair.」
Touko 「First of all, let’s go shopping.
We have rice, so we’ll only need meat and vegetables.」
Everyone 「Okay!」

Maki 「It’s a pretty big supermarket.」
Sayaka 「We should split our tasks.」

Touko 「You’re right, then let’s have girls choose vegetables, and boys choose meat.」

Sayaka 「Well then, what vegetables shall we go with?」
Yuu 「If we’re going for basic, then potatoes, onions, and carrots?」
Sayaka 「Summer vegetable curry would be nice as well.」
Touko 「That sounds good!」
Sayaka 「If it’s summer vegetables, then……
Eggplants, kabocha, tomatoes, okra, bell peppers,」
Touko 「Ngh.」
Sayaka, Yuu 「??」
Sayaka 「Kabocha, tomatoes, bell peppers,」
Touko 「Ngh.」
Yuu 「Peppers?」

Touko 「Ngh, ngh, nnngh……」
Yuu 「Are you……」
Sayaka 「Come to think of it, Touko’s bento always has things like 『sweet tamagoyaki』, 『sausages』, and 『spaghetti with tomato sauce』.」
Yuu 「…… Completely childish tastes.」
Touko 「It’s fine, right!」
Sayaka 「If you’re picky about eating, you won’t grow, you know?」
Touko 「I’ve grown enough!」
Yuu 「Even if you eat everything, it doesn’t mean you will grow!!!」
Sayaka 「…… Why are you upset?
Haa, all right, let’s pick the usual ones.
We can’t go wrong with those.」
Touko 「Okay!
Sayaka, you’re so kind.」
Doujima 「Ah, there they are.
We bought the meat.
Gotta have beef if we’re having curry!!!」
Evening performance
Touko 「You’re right, then let’s have girls choose meat, and boys choose vegetables.」
Everyone 「Okay!」
Sayaka 「What meat shall we go with?」
Yuu 「When it comes to meat, we should go with beef!
Ah, but beef is expensive so we can’t buy much. If it’s pork or chicken then we could have lots of meat.
Ah, I’m stumped…」
Sayaka 「Koito-san is a glutto-…… a gourmand.」
Touko 「Ehh? But isn’t it fine to be a big eater?」
Yuu 「Ah, but it’s a bit bad nowadays.
My eating is like when I played softball, it……」
Sayaka 「Did you gain weight?」
Yuu 「Please don’t put it so clearly!
I’m still below average!」
Touko 「I’ll have to check that in the bath!」
Yuu 「Please quit it!」
Doujima 「Ah, there they are.
We bought the veggies.
Though, it’s the usual potatoes, onions, carrots, and stuff.」
Touko 「Now then.
Having gathered here, we have to decide the most important thing.」
Yuu 「Here as in the place curry roux is sold?」
Touko 「Yes, it’s the curry’s spiciness!」
Doujima 「We doing majority rule?」
Touko 「Let’s all say it on go.
Aaand go!」
Sayaka 「Spicy.」 Touko 「Mild.」 Yuu 「Medium.」 Maki 「Spicy.」 Doujima 「Spicy.」
…………
Doujima 「Didn’t someone say 『mild』 just now?
Koito-san?」
Yuu 「I-I said medium!」
Doujima 「That’s funny, I thought I heard someone say it.」
Touko 「W-Well see, we said it at the same time so we couldn’t tell who said it.」
Sayaka 「I thought as much…」
Yuu 「If there’s people who aren’t good with spicy foods, we should match them.」
Touko 「Th-That’s right!
Then, we’re going with mild…」
Doujima 「Ehh, but I like it spicy.
So it wasn’t majority rule?」
Maki 「(in a low voice) Saeki-senpai and Koito-san, you’re rather mild to Nanami-senpai, huh?」
Yuu 「Wh-Whatever do you mean??」
Return to the school lodge.
Chopping vegetable noises (SE)
Daytime performance
Yuu 「Chopping vegetables kind of makes your mind clear, huh.」
Touko 「I get you.」
Yuu 「Huh? Who’s peeling the potatoes?」
Sayaka 「I am.」
Yuu 「…… Senpai, aren’t you kind of slow?」
Maki 「You’re right, there’s still a lot of potatoes left.」
Touko 「Sayaka, are you maybe… clumsy at this?」
Sayaka 「I-I can’t help it, okay?
I hardly ever cook.」
Yuu 「You don’t do it at home?」
Sayaka 「A servant handles it.
It seems like a bad idea to dismiss them.」
Doujima 「Eh!? You have servants!?!?」
Yuu 「What a rich girl.」
Sayaka 「I’m not a rich girl!!」
Yuu 「Huh, but there’s a scene in the play where you peel an apple, right?
Will you be okay?」
Sayaka 「I-I’m training for it, so I’ll be all right!!!」
Yuu 「I’ll peel too, so let me have some.」
Sayaka 「It’s fine! I’ll do all of this!」
Yuu 「Eh, even if you say that,」
Touko 「It’s no good, Yuu.
When Sayaka becomes like this, she won’t listen.
She hates to lose.」
Yuu 「I don’t want to be told that by you…」
Evening performance
Yuu 「Onions are difficult since they make you cry, huh.」
Doujima 「Leave it to me to handle the onions!」
Maki 「Doujima, is chopping onions your forte?」
Doujima 「Hm-hm-hm, why do you think I’ve got glasses?
Glasses are for protection!
Watch this!!」
Maki 「You’re really into mincing them up!!」
Doujima 「I’m pretty fond of cooking and often cook at home.」
However, he suddenly stops mincing and looks upward.
Doujima 「…… Ah, I can’t do it…… it got through, my nose……」
In the end, he also gushes tears.
Maki 「Onions should be heated before you start chopping them.」
Doujima 「Y-You… could’ve said so, earlier…?」
Simmering noises (SE)
Doujima 「For stewed foods, at least half the time is spent waiting.」
Yuu 「Doujima-kun, you’re good at cooking, huh.」
Doujima 「Guess so.
Still, I didn’t expect that of our senpai.
That we can beat them in some areas.」
Yuu 「Do you guys have any other skills or hobbies?」
Daytime performance
Maki 「Well, I like cycling and often ride around.
I won’t get lost even in places I’ve never been before.」
Yuu 「That’s amazing.」
Doujima 「I wanna go cycling with our senpai.
Oh right, Koito-san!
Ask them if they’re interested in cycling!」
Yuu 「Ehh? Why do I have to?
You can ask them yourself.」
Doujima 「It’ll definitely turn out better if you do it!」
Yuu 「But, it’s weird to suddenly talk about cycling.」
Doujima 「As for that, you see,
just smoothly go from some other topic, like 『the conversation blooms into cycling』.」
(Here Yukki turned her face away from the microphone, and there was a lot of laughter from the hall.)
Sayaka 「What have you been whispering about?」
Yuu 「A-Ahh, um, you see,
w-we were wondering why day old curry is so tasty.」
Maki 「(whispering) Starting the conversation about curry, will she be okay?」
Doujima 「(whispering) Isn’t it pretty much impossible to take it from here?」
Sayaka 「Aah, that.
I don’t really get its appeal.
I’m not too fond of muddled curry.」
Touko 「Ehh?
It’s good, don’t you like the mushier potatoes?」
Yuu 「W-Well, both have their own good points!
To use a comparison, it’s like commuting to school on foot or on bike.」
Sayaka, Touko 「Eh???」
Maki and Doujima hold their head in their hands
Yuu 「Y-You know,
if you walk here then it’s easier when you live nearby, and if you bike here then you can drop by more places.」
Sayaka 「I don’t quite get what you’re saying.」
Maki 「Koito-san, you’re just being Takada-san!!!」
The hall exploded into laughter, and being called out Yukki again turned off her microphone to laugh.
*It’s said that it was ad libbed after getting permission from Nakatani in advance.
Evening performance
Maki 「I like fishing.
Ah, hey, hey, Koito-san.
Could you ask the senpai if they’re interested in it?」
Yuu 「Ehh? Ask them yourself.」
Doujima 「No way, it’ll turn out better if you do it!
Just smoothly have the conversation bloom into fishing!」
(There was laughter from the hall. Expectation rose, will it be Yukki’s rampage again!?)
Sayaka 「What have you been whispering about?」
Yuu 「A-Ahh, um, you see,
w-we were talking about how hot it is.」
Maki 「(whispering) She’s starting the conversation about the weather?」
Doujima 「(whispering) Seems like it’ll work?」
Sayaka 「It sure is hot.」
Yuu 「At times like this, don’t you want to go swimming?」
Sayaka 「That does sound nice.」
Touko 「Sayaka, you took swimming classes or something, right?」
Sayaka 「Just a little when I was in elementary school.
So to a pool?」
Yuu 「Ahh, a pool would be nice, but…… wouldn’t swimming in nature be good too?
Like a river, the sea…」
Touko 「(mumbling) A swimsuit…… Yuu in…… a swimsuit……」
Yuu 「If it’s a river, then in addition to swimming-」
Touko 「Yuu!! Let’s make sure to go swimming!」
Yuu 「Ah, um, when should we do it?
But it’s not just about swimming-」
Touko 「Yuu! When will we go!?」
Yuu 「Please just listen to what I’m saying!!」
Yuu 「Haa…… I feel tired from that wasted effort.」
Doujima 「The rice is almost ready, so we can eat soon.」
Sayaka 「Ah!!!!!」
Touko 「Wh-What happened?」
Sayaka 「We forgot to buy something important……」
Yuu 「Was there something else we needed?」
Sayaka 「It’s fukujinzuke!!!」
Yuu 「A-Ahh.
But is that necessary……」
Maki 「Shoot…… I meant to buy it!」
Yuu 「Eh? Maki-kun, you too!?」
Touko 「Sure, having fukujinzuke would be appreciated, but is not having it a cause for worry?」
Sayaka 「(with trembling hands) Ｙｏｕ ｐｅｏｐｌｅ…… are you seriously saying that!?」
Doujima 「Eeeh!? Senpai has an anger switch there!?」
Yuu 「I think they sell it at convenience stores!!
…… It can’t be helped.
Okay, gather up, first-years.
Let’s decide which of us is going to buy it.」
Doujima 「Ehh.」
Yuu 「Come on.
Rock, paper, scissors.」
Yuu: paper; Maki, Doujima: scissors
Touko takes a short breath
Yuu 「Aw drat, I lost.」
Doujima 「Hehe, go do it.」
Maki 「I’m sorry that it’s your loss.」
Yuu 「It’s fine.
Well, I’m heading out to buy some.」
Touko 「Ah……」
Yuu 「Let’s see, the nearest convenience store is……」
Touko 「Yuu! Wait up!!」
Yuu 「Eh? Nanami-senpai!?」
Touko 「Wait, I’ll go with you.」
Yuu 「Haa, fine by me.
You were in such a rush that I thought something had happened.」
Touko 「That’s…… look, it’s getting dark so it’s dangerous to go alone.」
Yuu 「Please don’t treat me like a little kid.
I’ll be okay by myself.」
Touko 「Don’t!!!」
Yuu 「…………」
Touko 「…………」
Touko 「Hey, Yuu.
Can we hold hands?」
Yuu 「Ehh? It’s embarrassing.
Look, there’s still people around us returning from their clubs.」
Touko 「But…… you seem to be going somewhere.」
Yuu 「I’m not going anywhere.」
Touko 「…… In the past,
that was how someone close to me had gone out, and they never came back……」
Yuu 「…… Was that,
…… your sister?」
Touko 「………… (silence without answering)」
Yuu 「…… All right.
Senpai, please hold out your hand.」
Touko 「Yuu……」
Stomach growling noises (SE)
Yuu, Touko 「…… Aha, ahaha, ahahahaha……」
Yuu 「Getting kind of hungry, huh.」
Touko 「Yeah.
Hey, Yuu? How much is left of the budget for dinner?」
Yuu 「Um, around 500 yen.」
Touko 「Well then, why don’t we buy a snack?
Of course, keep it a secret from everyone else, okay?」
Yuu 「What a bad student council president.」
Touko 「This is a proper reward for the errand!」
Yuu 「In that case…… it’s a secret just between the two of us?」
Touko 「Yeah!
Yuu…… I love you!」

Impressions of the stage reading.
Daytime performance
Takada 「I’m glad that I could perform as a YagaKimi character again like this!」
Kotobuki 「Is this how it played out, type of feeling.」
Kayano? 「For that curry part, what did we say?」
Sayaka 「Spicy.」 Touko 「Mild.」 Yuu 「Medium.」 Maki 「Spicy.」 Doujima 「Spicy.」
→ This actually coincides with the preferences of each person voicing them!!!
Takada 「Eeehhh!!
Is that possible!?!?」
Kayano 「But! It’s not written on our official profiles or anything!?」
Takada 「Sensei!!!
How did you tell our curry preferences!?!?!?」
Evening performance
Kayano 「For the onion part, glasses played a huge role!」
In that moment…….
Eh? Kayano-san, did you call Doujima-kun 『Glasses』 (and without honorifics)!?
was what both the cast and the hall chattered.
Kayano-san who noticed such an incident,
Kayano 「No, that’s not it!
By glasses, I don’t mean Doujima-kun, but the glasses themselves.
Didn’t they guard the eyes from the onions?!
Though they couldn’t protect the nose!」
explained herself somewhat hurriedly.
◎ A small superfluity [spoilers for Regarding Saeki Sayaka 2]
★ Regarding the Rock Paper Scissors scene
This game actually has super important significance in YagaKimi.
In the original work, there is no scene where Touko plays Rock Paper Scissors except at the start of Less Than Me.
In 『Regarding Saeki Sayaka 2』 she plays one round, but she’s observed to have lost much of her bearings that time.
So.
Whether it’s this scene, the stage reading, or SaSaTsu2’s scene, the one that loses is always 『paper』.
I don’t think that paper itself has any meaning, but I think Touko cannot help reacting to 『losing with paper』.
To state the obvious, I think that in this stage reading, the matter of Yuu (an important person) having 『lost with paper』 『goes out on an easy errand』 gouged Touko’s heart.
That’s why Touko hastily gives chase.
She’s completely traumatized…….
